In her private practice, Kirstin offers psycho-educational assessments, school readiness assessments, subject and career guidance, play therapy and talk therapy. She works with children from approximately 4 years old through to early adulthood, supporting young people with challenges such as emotional wellbeing, anxiety, self-esteem, adjustment, relationships, learning difficulties and navigating important developmental transitions.

Kirstin particularly values creating a warm, safe and non-judgemental space in which children and young people feel understood and empowered. When working with younger children, she uses play therapy to provide a developmentally appropriate way of expressing and working through their experiences, while older children and adolescents are supported through age-appropriate talk therapy.

Kirstin is passionate about working collaboratively with parents, families, schools and other professionals where appropriate, recognising that children develop within a network of important relationships and environments.

Beyond the Practice

Outside of her practice, Kirstin enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors and making the most of life in Cape Town.
